Dogs over 1 year of age must be spayed or neutered.
My dog is shy and uncertain of other dogs, can he/she still get walk?
Absolutely. We walk dogs of all different personalities, that’s what we love about them.

What is your policy on aggressive dogs?
We do not walk aggressive dogs.
It is also our policy to always keep your pet safe and when we see an aggressive dog we will leave the area to avoid unnecessary risk.

How do I book walks, puppy visits and pet sitting?

What is the cancellation policy?
We require 24 hours notice for any cancelled or rescheduled walks or visits. Cancellations or reschedule requests received outside of the 24 hour window will be charged in full.
How do I pay? When is payment due?
You may pay via cash, checque, or e-transfer.
Payment is due 5 days from Invoice date or prior to services rendered. If a pre-paid walk is cancelled (with 24 hours notice) it will be credited your account for a future service.

Is Bark and Mew Crew bonded and insured?
Yes, we are licensed, bonded and insured. For more information, contact us directly.
Does your team know pet first aid?
Yes, we are all Pet First Aid Certified.
What is your key management policy?
All keys are numbered. Names, addresses and phone number or other identifying information is stored separately from your keys.
What if I have a personal emergency and need you to look after my pet?
We will do our best to accommodate last minute requests!
In an emergency, how will Bark and Mew Crew work with my vet to care for my pet?
In the unlikely event of an emergency, you will be contacted immediately. If you are not available we will contact the emergency contact on your file.

What is the hiring process for walkers?
All candidates must first provide a cleared police background check. We then have a phone interview followed by an in person interview and a reference check is conducted (3 references). If the individual is hired, they must complete training with a Senior Bark and Mew Crew Walker. If they have not already completed a Pet First Aid course, walkers have 14 days to enroll and provide proof of completion after the course.
Do you walk in groups or visit off-leash dog parks?
Group Walks: Our Group Walks are mainly through leash free trail parks, such as Bronte Creek PP although if we do on occasion visit community leash free parks for variety. Our private walks are on lead and in your dog(s) in your neighbourhood.
Does my dog have to be vaccinated?
We are aligned with Ontario’s policy that states “In Ontario, law requires vaccination of all dogs which are 3 months of age or older”.
Will I always get the same walker?
All clients are assigned a specific walker and back up walker. If we ever need to switch your walker, we will contact you first.
What is your policy on Chain or Prong Collars?
We will not walk a dog with a Chain or Prong Collar. Please ensure your pet has a buckle style collar.
All dogs must have a suitable collar with a properly secured tags that have their name and owner contact information on it as well as local license tag and rabies tag. Prong or Chain collars are not allowed on Group Suburban Walks. We do prefer to use an Easywalk Harness by Petsafe instead of a Prong or Chain collar as we find that the harness is just as effective.
We will do our best to meet the commitment we make with our clients. We also want to ensure the safety of our staff and clents.
If in our estimation it is unsafe for your pet and/or our walkers we will cancel the walk and credit your account.

Bark and Mew Crew are an amazing group. They take such care in their work. Our dog absolutely loves the friends she's made - human and furry, alike! - while with Bark and Mew. They're fun, friendly, and flexible, and we highly recommend them!

Use the walking service and the boarding and both were fantastic...you get an email with pictures to alert you of the walks and show how far they went...plus in home boarding so no loud, scary kennels...keep up the great work

Thank you very much to the Bark&Mew Crew for taking care of our kitties while we were on vacation. The time to pet application they use proved an excellent means for tracking visits and staying in contact. 👍👍👍

My dog loves her walks with Jennifer and Terry who have gone out of their way to accommodate mine and my husband's hectic work schedules, even on short notice. I always know Bella has a a safe place to stay while we're out of town and would recommend Bark and Mew Crew to anyone in the area!

Jenn and Terry are the awesome owners of Bark and Mew Crew. They are great with my dog, accommodating with our schedule and excellent at communicating with us. Scotia loves her hikes with Terry, Jenn and her "crew". We are so happy we found such great dog walkers and I would highly recommend Bark and Mew Crew.

I can always trust Terry and Jennifer to go above and beyond for my pup! They really care so much about the dogs! I know Kendal loves her walks with them and I can rest easyknowing she's being well taken care of. They send photo updates which is amazing! When Kendal is boarding with them she becomes part of their family. Our dog is a bit quirky and nervous but Terry and Jennifer are so patient and loving with her. I would highly recommend Bark and Mew Crew!

Terry and Jen are a pleasure to work with. They are conscientious and demonstrate a real care for the dogs. The best indication is how our dog responds when he is picked up. He often waits in the area that he is accustomed to be picked up from, in the hopes that they will come to pick him up that day. When Terry comes to pick him up our puppy is overjoyed with excitement. The success of the walk is clear when our puppy is calm and worked out for the rest of the day. The portal that they use to communicate with is a wonderful tool. To see the pictures of the dogs at play at the end of each walk is a great way to be virtually there with them. Thank you Terry and Jen for your efforts...much appreciated.

Bark and Mew is the best! The owners Terry and Jen are amazing and they take wonderful care of the dogs. Our dog Bailey goes for daily walks with them and is always so excited to see them when she gets picked up and has a great time off leash on her walks with all her friends. They have GPS tracking and also send pictures of the dogs everyday on the walks so you can see exactly where they went and how much fun they had. Bailey also boards with Jen and Terry when we go on vacation and really enjoys her stay with them. While we were gone Terry and Jen sent us pictures of Bailey hanging out at their house which eased our minds and also was a nice treat to see how she was holding up while we were away. Overall, we highly recommend them!

Jennifer and Terry are simply amazing! They are caring, hardworking and flexible. They really truly care about my girl's well-being and make sure Skye gets her daily exercise and is well taken care of. Skye is always so excited to see Jenn and Terry and is always blissfully exhausted after her walks and runs with them. I like that I can track her walks on doggy logs and love the pictures and videos! Jennifer and Terry also give me very valuable advice in training Skye and I feel like they care for her as one of their own dogs. I highly recommend Bark and Mew for any of your dog walking needs. They are hardworking individuals who truly provide the best service for my dog. Morgan looks forward to her walks daily and is always so excited to see Jenn and Terry! You can truly tell they care about your family and treat each dog like their own. Highly highly highly recommend. My wife and I really appreciate the daily logs and GPS track of the daily walks. Makes you feel like you are right there on the walk with them. The pictures that are included for every walk is an added bonus.The GPS walk ensures that we are actually getting what we paid for. Can't say enough good about the company!
