Does my dog have to be spayed or neutered?
Dogs over 1 year of age must be spayed or neutered.
My dog is shy and uncertain of other dogs, can he/she still get walk?
Absolutely. We walk dogs of all different personalities, that’s what we love about them.

What is your policy on aggressive dogs?
We do not walk aggressive dogs.
It is also our policy to always keep your pet safe and when we see an aggressive dog we will leave the area to avoid unnecessary risk.
How do I book walks, puppy visits and pet sitting?

What is the cancellation policy?
We require 24 hours notice for any cancelled or rescheduled walks or visits. Cancellations or reschedule requests received outside of the 24 hour window will be charged in full.
How do I pay? When is payment due?
You may pay via cash, checque, or e-transfer.
Payment is due 5 days from Invoice date or prior to services rendered. If a pre-paid walk is cancelled (with 24 hours notice) it will be credited your account for a future service.
Is Bark and Mew Crew bonded and insured?
Yes, we are licensed, bonded and insured. For more information, contact us directly.
Does your team know pet first aid?
Yes, we are all Pet First Aid Certified.
What is your key management policy?
All keys are numbered. Names, addresses and phone number or other identifying information is stored separately from your keys.
What if I have a personal emergency and need you to look after my pet?
We will do our best to accommodate last minute requests!
In an emergency, how will Bark and Mew Crew work with my vet to care for my pet?
In the unlikely event of an emergency, you will be contacted immediately. If you are not available we will contact the emergency contact on your file.
If your pet must be brought to the vet immediately, we will bring them to your vet as indicated on your file.
What is the hiring process for walkers?
All candidates must first provide a cleared police background check. We then have a phone interview followed by an in person interview and a reference check is conducted (3 references). If the individual is hired, they must complete training with a Senior Bark and Mew Crew Walker. If they have not already completed a Pet First Aid course, walkers have 14 days to enroll and provide proof of completion after the course.
Do you walk in groups or visit off-leash dog parks?
Group Walks: Our Group Walks are mainly through leash free trail parks, such as Bronte Creek PP although if we do on occasion visit community leash free parks for variety. Our private walks are on lead and in your dog(s) in your neighbourhood.
Does my dog have to be vaccinated?
We are aligned with Ontario’s policy that states “In Ontario, law requires vaccination of all dogs which are 3 months of age or older”.
Will I always get the same walker?
All clients are assigned a specific walker and back up walker. If we ever need to switch your walker, we will contact you first.
What is your policy on Chain or Prong Collars?
We will not walk a dog with a Chain or Prong Collar. Please ensure your pet has a buckle style collar.
